Rick William Raatz Remembered - 05/26/2026

Rick Raatz, beloved husband of Wendy Raatz, battled an aggressive form of Alzheimer's disease, called Lewy Body Dementia, for almost 3 years before succumbing to the disease in May of 2026.
Rick joined the Navy directly out of high school and then went on after his tours to earn 2 college bachelor degrees. Rick and Wendy met in 2006 and had a wonderful 20 years together (almost to the day). Rick was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. Rick now joins his brothers and sisters in Heaven with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Until we meet again...

Karen Shafer's Graduation (to Heaven) Celebration
"...whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die."

Karen Shafer, a beloved member of Gleneden Beach Christian Church, battled cancer for over 10 years. Through it all, she cared for her husband whom also has cancer. She was a devout prayer warrior and will be remembered for her caring and loving, uplifting nature. She will be sorely missed. Karen now joins her brothers and sisters in Heaven with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
